Marlys Gazecki Obituary

Marlys Gazecki was born on December 20, 1917 in North Dakota to Martin and Clara Fluto. She was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings, and first husband Robert (Bob) Frankosky. Marlys passed away November 15, 2010. Marlys and Bob moved from Fargo, North Dakota to Tacoma Washington in 1942 where they made many friends. She was a member of Fircrest Golf Club, holding several offices in the Women's Division, one being president for 2 years. She also belonged to Bridge clubs, and a Mah Jongg group. She was a long time member of Central Lutheran Church where she was a member of Mary Guild and the Altar Society. After her husband died she became a travel agent and went to many interesting places. She retired in 1992. In 1992 Marlys married William (Bill) Gazecki on their lanai in Maui. Having no children, she inherited three boys. She and Bill traveled to far away places on planes and cruises in Europe, So. Africa and Asia. Later on, on a visit to Palm Desert, Calif. they bought a home at Avondale Golf Club where they currently reside. They have many close friends in Palm Desert and Tacoma who mourn her passing. Marlys is survived by her devoted husband of 18 years, Bill Gazecki, three sons and family...Tyler Gazecki (Nancy) and their son Hunt, John Gazecki and his daughters Shannon and Erin, Wm. Gazecki Jr. (Kim) and son Sam. She is also survived by her husbands step-daughter Sharon Andal of Seattle. Also her special niece and nephew Mary and Tim Twomey and their sons Joe (Gina M. Coelho) Mackinnon and Flannery of Maryland, Brian, Daniel, Scott (Annita) Christopher and Brianne all of Tacoma. She is also survived by special brother-in-law Gen. James Frankosky of Arlington, Va. and his family Johanna, MaryJane and James Jr. and their families. Kathleen Twomey Dolinaj (Joe), Michael Twomey (Mary) and their families of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Also special is Colleen Larson in Minnesota and Diane Kelly in North Dakota. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11am November 23, 2010 at Central Lutheran Church, 409 No. Tacoma Ave., Tacoma Washington.
