Marylynn Fraedrick Obituary

Marylynn Fraedrick of Rancho Mirage, Calif. and formerly of Eugene, Ore., passed away peacefully at home in the warm embrace of her loving family on Sunday, October 31, 2010. Born Marylynn Jean Tykeson on April 18, 1930 in Helena, Mont. to Harold and Inez Tykeson, Marylynn, and her family moved to Eugene in 1945. It was in Eugene, while attending the University of Oregon that she met and married the true love of her life, Ronald Fraedrick, on December 11, 1949. While raising their three children, Marylynn supported her husband Ron in starting and helping him build the successful international restaurant chain, Taco Time. She was also active in the Eugene Junior League; was on the Board of the Eugene YMCA, and the Lay Board of Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, Oregon. During her "down time" Marylynn could be found skiing with her family in Sun River, Ore. and Sun Valley, Idaho; playing tennis and bridge; designing and remodeling her Family Homes and the Taco Time offices. She organized many memorable parties and Family get-togethers and traveled around the world with her beloved husband Ron.
Marylynn and Ron found refuge from the northwest winters while vacationing in the Palm Springs area over 30 years ago and in 2003 decided to reside permanently in Rancho Mirage. Marylynn was active with Junior League of Palm Springs Desert Communities- Sustainers; Coachella Valley Alumnae Panhellenic; Board Member of the College of the Desert Foundation Auxiliary; Charter Member of The Friends of the Tools for Tomorrow; and Member of the Muses and Patroness Circle of the McCallum Theater.
Marylynn is survived by her loving husband, Ron Fraedrick; her sister, Shirley Bartley of Arizona; her daughter, Rhonda and husband Steve Earle of Bend, Ore.; her daughter, Kim and husband Lee Scheuer of Portola Valley, Calif.; her son, Joe and wife Irina Fraedrick of Eugene; her niece, Debra Fraedrick of Eugene; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two more great-grandchildren on the way; and her cherished and faithful Bichon Frise, Tyke.
Marylynn will be so deeply missed by all her family and friends both in California and Oregon, as well as all the lives around the world she touched in the eighty wonderful years she was with us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of Marylynn's favorite organizations: Tools for Tomorrow; Inc. (non-profit), 42800 Bob Hope Drive, Ste 209-0, Rancho Mirage CA 92270 and The National MS Society, Oregon Chapter, 104 SW Clay Street, Portland OR 97201.
The Fraedrick Family also wishes to express their sincerest appreciation and suggest donations to the Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties along with the Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties- Hospice, for their untiring help and support during this most difficult time at 42-600 Cook Street, Ste 210, Palm Desert, CA 92211.
