Raymond Olson Obituary

Raymond Lee Olson, 45, of Indio, Calif. passed away suddenly on November 24, 2010 after suffering a heart attack. Raymond was born on December 8, 1964 to Ben and Carolyn Olson in Long Beach, Calif. and on November 3, 1990, Raymond married Sherree Morrison in Laughlin, Nev. Raymond was involved in a variety of businesses in the Coachella Valley including being a hot air balloon chaser, a car wash manager and in recent years, an accomplished house painter. When people think of Raymond Olson, they will always say that "Everybody loves Raymond". A devoted husband, son, brother and uncle and extremely loyal to his friends, Raymond could fill a room with laughter with his witty personality and lighthearted spirit. He was a "prince of a guy" and will be loved and missed by all. Raymond is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sherree Olson; and their beloved dogs, Billie and Lucy; his father, Ben Olson (Kappy) La Quinta, Calif.; his mother, Carolyn Butcher (Ray) Yuma, Ariz.; sister, Natalie Schleining (James) Tucson, Ariz.; nieces, Hannah and Hailey Schleining; as well as many relatives and good friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday December 6, 2010 at Sheppard of the Valley United Methodist Church, 45-501 Deglet Noir, Indio, CA. Visitation will be at the church from 12:00-1:00 PM. I don't ever recall seeing Ray wthout a grin or a smile. Everything was just happier when he wa around. More recently, I knew Ray and Sherree to the most kind, caring helpful people. If there is a just God in heaven, I know that Ray is blessed for being who he was.
