Sally Carr, a long-time resident of the Palm Springs, Calif. area, passed away peacefully in Rancho Mirage, Calif. on September 12, 2010. She was born October 14, 1930 in Chicago, Ill. to Joseph Parise and Sarah Arnone. Sally resided in Chicago where she worked for Pure Oil in their Accounting Department for fourteen years. Sally married Jack Carr in 1968 and moved to Edison, N.J., where they lived until Jack's death in April l997. That fall, Sally moved to Palm Springs where she became active in Sons of Italy - Dolly Sinatra Lodge, Lions' Club of Cathedral City, St. Louis Women's Guild and People Helping People. Sally is survived by her sister, Rosemarie Durkton of Cathedral City, Calif.; brothers-in-law, Donald Carr of Burlington, Wisc. and Eugene Carr (Aurora) of Peoria, Ill.; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grand-nephews. Sally was preceded in death by her older sister Josephine Milke. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be given to the charity of your choice or to Project Linus, 197 Shepherd Drive, Cathedral City, CA 92234. Services will be held at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Palm Springs. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Chicago.
