Theo Morando Obituary

Theo Elizabeth Morando June 12, 1933 - October 7, 2010 Theo passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 7, 2010. She was at home as she wished, close to her son, in Yucca Valley, Calif. She was born in Stockton, Calif. to Caroline and Theodore Curnow. Theo first met George Morando in Farmington while attending the local grammer school. After George left the Navy, they reunited in Stockton. They were married on April 14, 1954 and shortly after moved to Santa Cruz where they settled and raised two children, Jana (Jeffrey) Vannini and Michael (Denise) Morando. After the children left home, Theo and George moved to Palm Springs, Calif. where her two brothers, William and Rodney Curnow resided. George preceded Theo in death; she is survived by her children and four grandchildren, Sonny and Maria Morando, Adele and Leo Vannini. A memorial service was held October 16, 2010 in Vallecito, Calif. where her beloved George is buried. Theo was loved by all her family and friends and will be missed very much.

Whenever I think or share about my Aunt Theo it brings up so much love and I feel such joy. As a small girl she was one of my favorite family member. She had so much joy and love and always just made me feel happy and loved. She was also not shy about her love for Jesus and for some reason I would think to myself that was why she was so loving and kind. I had called Aunt Theo the week before she passed. I will always be so grateful we talked. I feel really blessed to have had her in our lives . She really made a deep impression on me as a young child. She was very special.
I miss her.

The main thing that I remember of my Aunt Theo was her uncontional love towards us during a very difficult time of my teenage years. I also remember how loving her son Mike, (my 1st cousin was to us), he, like his Mom were concerned and very compassionate about our emotianal well being. I am grateful that I spoke to my Aunt Theo the day prior to her death. She was a most beautiful and forgiveness was so important to her.
I will miss having lunch at the Elephant Bar in Palm Desert with her.
She always called with love and grief for both her bothers, Rodney and Bill Curnow.
