Verda Schum Obituary

Verda Lee Schum, 87, of Cathedral City, Calif. passed away on October 1, 2010 at Odyssey House. She was born on June 6, 1923 to Joseph and Idell Staten in Tell City, Ind. She married Raymond Anthony Schum on November 10, 1944 at the U.S. Naval Base in Charleston, S.C. She served in the U.S. Navy WAVES (women serving in the Navy) during World War II. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Anthony Schum; children, Jodell and Jeff Murray of Durango, Colo., Susan and Frank Hutchins of Oceanside, Calif., Mike Schum and Greg Williams of Long Beach, Calif., John and Dianne Schum of Kaneohe, Hawaii; and three grandchildren, Todd and Scott Hutchins, and Danielle Schum. Entrusted to the care of Wiefels Funeral Director Palm Springs.
