I will miss you Joel…your laugh, your smile, your kind heart. This life won’t be the same without you in it. I will cherish my memories of you and smile because you lived.
With much love from your sister-in-law, Diana Picazo
Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Joel, even though you have left us in body, your spirit stays with us. No one can take away the thousands of happy thoughts and memories you are a part of. In spite of your health issues, you were always optomistic and cheerful and that is the way I will remember you. Thank you for being such a good brother to me. I will miss you. Even though I am sad that you are gone, I will try to smile when I think of you. Love your brother, David

My memories of my brother are wonderful. He was a gentle kind person. A person that I could talk to. I was not raised by my biological parents and recently lost both of my parents that raised me. When my brother called to give me his condolences, he told me he understood what I was feeling because he knew that they were the ones that I knew as my parents. We always laughed about dumb things. He and I were only one year apart so we were close in age and also in interests and likes. I'll miss you Joel but I know you are now in a better place and happier than what we can imagine. I'll see you soon and I am glad we had our last few days to catch up on things. You will always live in my heart and in my memories. When I look up to the sky I will look for your star shining down on me.
Love you always, your sis, Lolly

Joel,
I will really miss you. You wee such a nice person and good friend. I am so glad I had the chance to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with you and your Mom and Myra. I enjoyed our walk in the park and the talk we had with the kids. Thank you again for going with us.

The best thing I remember about Joel is that he loved kids. During Christmas and Thanksgiving, he asked if we wanted to play the Wii. He also played with us and we all had a wonderful time together laughing and playing around. I'm going to miss you a lot, Joel!

I only have the fondest of memories for my uncle Joel. One aspect of his personality that really sticks out in my mind is his sense of humor. He was always making jokes and laughing, in turn making me and everyone around him laugh. His talents in the kitchen were well enjoyed by the family during the holidays and on birthdays and other occasions. His art, too, was well enjoyed, as it hung on the walls of the house he shared with his mother. I still can't believe he is gone from this world, and I will miss him terribly (especially when everyone gets together), but I know that his long struggle with his health has finally been conquered and that he is whole again. I am glad he finally gets to see his sister and dad again and meet the brother he never got to meet in this life. I will always remember him and he has a special place in my heart forever. Until we meet again, dear uncle, I will be missing you.
