James Surovik Obituary

October 18, 1955 - October 18, 2010

James Surovik, 55, of Bryan, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010 at his residence in Bryan.

Services are planned for Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell with Pastor Skip Stutts officiating. Burial will follow in the Caldwell Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Surovik was born in Bryan to parents Paul Surovik and Vlasta nee Surovik. He graduated from A & M Consolidated High School. He married Dianna Sells June 30, 2001 in Bryan. James had many hobbies like fishing, hunting, gardening and helping people. He loved building and making things with his hands.

Preceding Mr. Surovik were his father, Paul Surovik; and two sons, Micheal and Joseph.

Mr. Surovik is survived by his wife, Dianna Sells of Bryan; two sons, Jesse and Jacob Surovik, both of Bryan; mother, Vlasta Surovik of Cooks Point; three brothers, Albert Surovik and wife, Carolyn, of Cooks Point, Texas, Roy Surovik and wife, Jina, of Mertens, Texas, Nelson Surovik and wife, Teri, of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Lillian Beasley and husband, Jerry, of Cooks Point, Patricia Surovik of Dallas, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Brian Surovik, Chris Beasley, J.R. Surovik, Michael Wager, Vic Valero II, Vic Valero Sr. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Cumby Sr., D.J. Cumby Jr., Larry Hein, Dan Kubecka, Hubert Hearne, Luis Martinez, Tim Beasley, John Beasley, Leland Surovik, and Robby Surovik.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting and memorials or donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Caldwell.
