Peggy Joyce Blackwell, 78, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012, at her residence. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 9, at Little West Fork Baptist Church with Dr. Kim Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at McReynolds-Nave and Larson Funeral Home and 12pm until the hour of service at the Church.
Peggy was born August 1, 1933 in Talladega, Alabama. She was born the daughter of the late Vinley and Stella Martin Tomlin and was also preceded in death by her husband, William A. Blackwell. Mrs. Blackwell was a member of Little West Fork Baptist Church for over 20 years, a retired nurse at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Ft. Campbell and a member of Bosom Buddies Cancer Association.
Survivors include her sons, David W. Blackwell (Mary R. Zimmer) of Lexington, KY, and John A. Blackwell (Jana R. Sims) of Smyrna, TN; sisters, Bobbie Logan of Wake Forest, NC, Gertrude Abbott of Millbrook, AL and Eula Mae Boulding of Festus, MO.
Pallbearers will be Malcolm Brogdon, James Peterson, Bill Davie, Richard LeBlanc, James Ray Sims, and Robert Jones.
Memorial contributions may be made to Little West Fork Baptist Church, 201 Britton Springs Rd, Clarksville, TN 37042.
