Joyce Fathauer Bogan, died August 25, 2012, in Temple, Texas, at the age of 83. Graveside services for Mrs. Bogan and her husband, Bill Bogan, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 15, at Bartlett City Cemetery, in Bartlett, Texas.
She was born in Somerville, Texas, on January 31, 1929, to Fred Fathauer and Mattie (Kettrick) Fathauer. She attended schools in Brenham, Texas, graduating with the Brenham High School Class of 1946. She married William Robert Bogan, Jr. in the Brenham Presbyterian Church on February 28, 1947. They were married 64 years before his death in January 2012.
Joyce was employed in the Chemical Engineering Department and the School of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University in secretarial positions. She left Texas A&M to work for the Department of Defense for 20 years in accounting and finance at Bryan AFB, Texas; James Connally AFB, Texas; Mather AFB, California; and Fort Hood, Texas.
She and Bill retired from the Department of Defense and returned to Bryan. Joyce went back to work for the Texas Engineering Extension Service at Texas A&M and retired from there in 1994. Mrs. Bogan was an inactive member of Temple Brethren Church.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brothers, Ray Fathauer and James Fathauer.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Velma Fathauer; nephew, Ronnie Fathauer; and niece, Marcie Phipps and their families, all of Brenham.
