Bridget Ann King, 73, of Centerville, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016. |
Bridget was born on Dec. 26, 1942, in Minster to James and Theresa O'Reilly.
She is survived by her loving husband Stephen King; children Stacy (Nicholas) Wilhite, Eric (Ramona Cotter) King, and Molly (Matthew) Waite; grandchildren Madison King and Mason Waite; siblings Alice Lehman, James (Lena) O'Reilly, Patrick (Barbara Bonelli) O'Reilly, and Timothy (Naomi) O'Reilly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bridget is preceded in death by her parents.
She graduated from St. Marys High School in 1961 and then went on to earn her bachelor's in education from Bowling Green State University. Bridget taught elementary school for 11 years then worked at Elder Beerman for 17 years.
She volunteered for the voting polls and to read to children at the local library. Bridget was a long time member of Church of the Incarnation and a member of its bridge club and leisure club. She was forever loving, caring, and supportive and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Bridget was always one to put others before herself.
She loved all sports and was an avid fan of many teams, including the BGSU Falcons, Steelers, Buckeyes and Dayton Flyers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 E. Ohio St., Suite 500, Chicago, IL, 60611-3201.
