Robert J. "Bob" Pickering, 74, of Celina, passed away at 1:36 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at Celina Manor. |
He was born on March 1, 1942, in Celina to Karl and Eva (Roach) Pickering, both preceded him in death.
He married Patricia A. Manger on Sept. 9, 1988, and she preceded him in death on July 15, 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy J. Braun, Florida, and Janeva Pickering, St. Marys; six stepchildren; two sisters, Karlene Speicher, Wapakoneta, and Hazel Heinfield, Ada; a sister-in-law Jane Pickering, Celina; a special friend Sharon McGee, Celina; and three grandchildren, Chancelor Hensley, St. Marys, Brandon Walpole, Florida, and Nathan Pickering, St. Marys.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Francis (Evelyn), Joseph (Joan) and Ralph I. Pickering; a sister Anita (Tom) Andrew; a brother-in-law Robert Heinfeld; and a son-in-law Craig Braun.
Bob was a 1960 graduate of Celina Senior High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in St. Marys after 28 years of service.
He was member of Mt Zion United Methodist Church, Celina.
