Laura Eastwood Obituary
Henderson, Ky.
Laura Katherine Poole Eastwood, 28, of Henderson, Ky., passed away, Wednesday, February 15, at her home.
Laura attended Webster County High School before graduating, in 2006, from Henderson County High School. She was a member of FFA and had taken a technical class and was an excellent welder. She had attended Henderson and Madisonville Community Colleges. She was a beautiful and spontaneous person. The best times spent were times on a four wheeler, outdoors and being a country girl. Laura loved to take spur of the moment road trips whether it was going to the lake, to Smothers Park, in Owensboro, or to the Amish community to buy vegetables with her children. Often they would pack a picnic and stop along the way. Some of her favorite places were spent off the pavement, like the Geneva bottoms, Rakestraw Bridge or any open green field. She collected owls and enjoyed listening to Chris Stapleton and adored Reba McEntire. Her family would describe Laura as compassionate, loving and a great mother to her two children. Her greatest influences were her grandparents, mother and father.
Laura was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ronald Gower; and paternal grandparents, Prentice and Edith Poole.
Survivors include her daughter, Kaitlyn Porath, at home; son, Gavin Cook, at home; mother, Cathy Brown; father, Emery Poole; maternal grandmother, Joyce Gower; sister, Emily Poole; brother, Andrew Poole, all of Henderson, Ky.; aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Laura's Life Celebration from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and again on Wednesday starting at 10 a.m. at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the funeral home, with Reverend Todd Linn, PhD officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, in Webster County, Ky.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Shelter for Women and Children 530 Klutey Park Plaza Dr, Henderson, KY 42420.

She was a great loving caring sister she and I were very close......I will always remember my Big Sis by going out to the farm or seeing anchors and mermaids and just the little things I'm proud to have had her as my big sis she helped raise me as a little girl....RIP

Laura was one of my very best friends. I loved her like a sister. She had a certain glow about her that lit up a room when she walked into it. She could always make me smile whenever or whatever situation came my way. She was a wonderful friend and good mother - she loves her babies. I feel so awful that they will have to grow up without her. To her family: you are in my heart and my prayers and I pray that you find peace.

I'm so sorry for yalls loss. Knew Laura since I was ten. One great woman, amazing family, and was always there no matter what. Would always bend over backwards for anybody, and not ask anything in return. Praying for the family.

My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there is a hope for our love ones lost in death can be reassuring.
