Ophelia Simms Obituary
Henderson, Ky.
Ophelia Simms, age 82, of Henderson, Ky., went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Ophelia was preceded in death by four brothers, Elwood, Ray Ellis, Herbert Lee and N.T. Thomas; two sisters, Rosanna Peden and Hazel Porter.
Survivors include husband of 47 years, Edgar L. Simms, of Henderson, Ky.; daughter, Angela K. Gregory and her husband, James, of Paducah, Ky.; a very special nephew, Donald Ray Thomas, of Henderson, Ky.; additional nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Ophelia's Life Celebration from 9 a.m. until the service time on Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at the church, with Reverend Joseph Flagg officiating. Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson.
