Edgar Simms Obituary
Henderson, Ky.
Edgar Logan Simms, age 79, of Henderson, Ky., went to be with his heavenly father on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Redbanks Nursing Home under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Edgar was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Ophelia Simms; his parents, James and Jennie Simms; two sisters, Frieda Leavell and June Simms; and two brothers, James Simms and Theodore Simms.
Survivors include daughter, Angela K. Gregory and her husband, James of Paducah, Ky.; three sisters, Sherrie Peacher and husband, LeBlanc of Evansville, Ind., Geraldine Fluellen and Helen Brown, both of Madisonville, Ky.; one brother, Elder Herman Simms and wife, Bertha, of Capital Heights, Md.; a very special nephew, Donald Ray Thomas, of Henderson, Ky.; additional nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to Edgar's Life Celebration from 9 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the church, with Reverend Joseph Flagg officiating. Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson.
