Wierschem, Joseph M. Joseph passed from this life on December 29, 2012 to join his loving wife, Lorraine (2000) in the next. He leaves behind to grieve his passing, his daughter, Nancy (John, deceased) Wilda; his son, Richard Wierschem; three grandchildren, Angela (Harry) Miller, John (Holly) Wilda, Jr. and Andrew (Crystal) Wilda; nine great-grandchildren; a special friend, Alberta La Grone and Casey; his faithful four-legged friend. Several nieces and nephews also survive. U.S. Korean War Army Veteran. Joseph retired in 1988 from Union Oil after 39 years of service. He and his wife Lorraine owned and operated Area 1 Rental in Lockport from 1983 thru 1989. He was a life member and past Commander of the Lockport VFW Post #5788 and life member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lockport Lodge #1577. He was also a 54 year member of the Wilmington Recreation Club, where he liked to camp, boat and get together with his many friends, who became his extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, Joseph C. and Anna J. (Helbock) Wierschem; brothers, Peter (Catherine) and John (Helen) Wieschem; sisters, Rita (Wilfred) Eneix, Marcella (Ted) Obelander, Cecelia Wierschem and Mary Wierschem . Funeral services will be held Thursday, 9:30 am from the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 1105 E. 9TH ST. (159TH ST.), LOCKPORT to St. Joseph Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation Wednesday 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
