Daniel Mahalik Sr.

Mahalik Sr., Daniel H. "Bullitt" Age 70, died Monday, October 7, 2013 at his residence. Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Sophia Mahalik; one brother, Stephen Mahalik (October 5, 2013) and one sister-in-law, Carol Mahalik. He is survived by one son, Daniel H. (Karen) Mahalik Jr.; one daughter, Danielle (Michael) Potter of Tucson, AR; 2 grandchildren, Kevin (Calvin) and Courtney Mahalik; brothers and sisters, LeEtta Michaels, Gerald Mahalik, Lawrence (Veronica) Mahalik, Louis (Janet) Mahalik, Cynthia (Richard) Pirc, Marcia Widloe, Deanna (Jay) Ruettiger, Mark (LuAnn) Mahalik, David (Tia) Mahalik and Lisa Mahalik; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Joliet, he was a lifelong resident. Dan was a U.S. Navy veteran having served 2 Tours of Duty in Vietnam. Awarded multiple medals for his heroics. Retired electrician after 40 years. Past member of IBEW Local #176. Member of Moran A.C., American Legion and the old Eastside A.C. He was an avid sports fan his entire life. He highly valued the time spent with his family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12 at 10:45 a.m. from Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, to St. Bernard's Catholic Church for an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial.
