Rich always greeted us with a big smile and a huge "How you do'in". He was also real good at keeping us on your toes. For example, when letting him know we were moving closer to him and Cathy . . . his response . . . "There goes the neighborhood!"

Rich was my training officer when I was hired at JFD in 1974. I was in awe of how much he knew and how little I knew. But by the end of my training he made sure I was prepared for a career in the fire service.
Thanks Hooks, for all you taught me.

Dear Cathy,
Please accept our deepest sympathies on the death of your beloved RIchard. We are his cousins living in and around Joliet .Most of our memories of Pauline and Richard and his brothers are from decades ago when we were all young. Occasionally we would exchange emails but not lately. We just wanted to offer our condolences and to thank you for thinking that we might also want to know of his passing.
May your beautiful memories help to comfort you.

Rich,
It was an honor to have known Rich. With the few instances we've talked, during work-related events with Cathy, it was evident that he was a loving husband and pleasant individual to be with. He was a perfect match for Cathy and he loved life. Prayers for peace and comfort for Cathy and family. Rest in Peace, Rich.

we with the fire dept knew him as Hooks because of the hook and ladder he served with. He was my training officer who taught me well . Later as a friend, all memories of him are good and I regret not keeping in touch after his retirement
