Harold Humbert Born: March 10, 1925; in Dwight, IL Died: Feb. 27, 2014; in Braceville, IL Harold "Babe " Humbert died at home on Thursday, February 27, 2014. He was born on March 10, 1925 in Dwight, IL. He married Jean Lenzie September 25, 1953, in the backyard of his parents ' home in Gardner, IL. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean on July 24, 1997. His family consisted of five siblings, Frank "Bud " (Betty) Humbert, Lucille (Karl) Bookwalter, Margaret (Richard) Patton, Twilla (Corky) Margarone, Arden (Sandy) Humbert. Survivors include his children, Jane (Dave) Schnetlagie from Tennessee, Patti (Dave) Furlano from Braceville, Tim Humbert from Braceville, Bob (Wendy) Humbert from South Wilmington; four grandchildren, David Furlano from Braceville, Amanda (Adam) Chapman from New Jersey, Morgan and Luke Schnetlagie from Tennessee; and 1 great granddaughter, Chloe Furlano from Braceville. And many others who considered him, "Grandpa ". Harold graduated from Reddick High School. He was a U.S. Navy WWII vet. He was a building trades instructor at GAVC. Harold was a member of the Wilmington Congregation of Jehovah 's Witnesses. Harold was known for his generosity and kind heart. He was an avid photographer, gardener and loved the outdoors. Visitation is Monday, March 3, 2014 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. with a memorial talk officiated by Mr. Bruce Jensen at 6:30 p.m. at the RW Patterson Funeral Home, 401 E. Main St., Braidwood, IL. A luncheon to share in the celebration of Harold 's life with his family, will be served at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Braceville Community Center on Mitchell Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his family to be distributed according to his wishes.
