Marvin Louis Baskin was born January 16, 1958 to the late James and Nora Baskin. He transitioned to be with the Lord on December 28, 2017 in the comfort of his home with his wife by his side.

Marvin gave his life to the Lord at an early age. He has always been dedicated to serving the Lord as well as serving others. He served in the United States Marine Corps for three years. Marvin retired from Stateville Correctional Center as Correctional Officer and later became a Transportation Officer. After 30 years of service, he then relocated to Montgomery, Alabama where he joined Consuming Fire Ministries and served as a deacon.

Marvin is survived by his devote wife, DeLois Baskin of 16 years. He leaves to cherish his memories three children, Martari Baskin of Joliet, IL, Tyneilya Baskin of Lansing, IL and Tymeika Baskin of Lansing, IL; five siblings, Kimberly (Jerry) Coleman of Cordova, TN, Mary Gamble of Chicago, IL Phyllis Bowie of Joliet, IL, Elder James (Pat) Baskin of Romeoville, IL and Michael Baskin of Joliet, IL. Marvin leaves behind five granddaughters; one god-daughter, Londyn Howard of Montgomery, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church, 18101 Oak Ave., Lockport, IL. Service at 11:00 AM, Rev. James Baskin, Jr., officiating. Private interment.
