Susan K. Remus (nee Temenak), age 72, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Seasons Hospice in Naperville. She was blessed to be surrounded by all her grandchildren the day prior to her passing.
Born November 19, 1942, in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Ida Augusta (Hirsch) Temenak.
Prior to raising her family, she worked as a managing editor for Field Enterprises Educational Corporation. Upon returning to work, she served as an office manager and international salesperson for Spectrum Technologies.
Susan was a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being an active member of Hope Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching classic movies, playing board games, along with arts and crafts. She also had a great appreciation for music.
She will be remembered for her loving advice and being supportive of all her children's and grandchildren's activities.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 43 years, Daniel E. Remus; children, Caroline L. "Carrie" (Jamey) Mack of Lake Villa, IL, Gerald D. "Gerry" (Rachel) Remus of Shorewood, and Claire L. (Anthony) Palacz of New Lenox; five grandchildren, Daniel Mack, Genevieve Mack, Samuel Remus, Julia Remus and Maxwell Remus; siblings, June (late Robert) Schoder of Aurora, James (Aurelia) Temenak of San Diego, CA and Lorry (Wayne) Dinkelman of Grand Island, NE; and many adored nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Susan K. Remus will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2015, at Hope Lutheran Church, 305 E. Black Road, Shorewood, where she will Lie in State from 10:30 until time of services. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
Memorials in her name to Hope Lutheran Church or American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
Visitation Sunday, 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
