Virginia was a life-long resident of Wilmington, Illinois. Virginia retired from Uniroyal after 34 years. In her early 20's, for three years she was in the Navy Reserves. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her membership and friends at the Wilmington Senior Citizens, Wilmington Historical Society and The First Christian Church of Wilmington. Virginia was a kind and loving wife, mother and friend. With her six children, she was always a good listener and never took sides. She lived by the Rule to never gossip and on the rare occasions when she would give advice on life, we would find out later when not taking it that "Mom was always right." She always loved visitors, especially the last few years when she was confined inside. Every card or flower she received she had to share with you.
The family will have a Memorial Service at The First Christian Church of Wilmington on Monday, October 12, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. with dinner to be served immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to the First Christian Church of Wilmington.
