REED CITY -- Kelly May Thiel-Kanouse, 45, lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018.
She was born May 4, 1973, in Reed City, to Ron Thiel and Patricia Steward (Kilmer).
She attended Reed City Public Schools. She married Brian Kanouse in 1999, later estranged in 2009. They shared two children, Kody and Makaylee. She worked at Nabco, Tubelight and AAR as a laborer. Kelly lived most of her life in the Reed City area. Kelly enjoyed spending time making memories with her family and friends. She had a wild spirit and a kind, loving heart.
She is survived by her children, Kody O'Neill and Makaylee Kanouse; father, Ron (Norma) Thiel; mother, Patricia Kilmer (stepfather, Gordon Kilmer); (stepfather, John Pelton); brother's Gary Steward and Kevin (Kim) Thiel; and step-brother, Mark (Katrina) Seath. She had family in England, and many cousins and friends.
Kelly was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bill and Betty Thiel; her aunt, Carmen; and her cousin, Jody.
There will be a service for Kelly at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, at Church of the Nazarene in Reed City, (5300 S. 220th Ave.) with a luncheon at the Reed City VFW hall (129 E. Osceola St.). Kelly will be laid to rest in the Hersey Village Cemetery.
The family wishes in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Treatment Center in Reed City.
