Allen W. Catterlin, 51, Monticello, went to be with the Lord at 8:15 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2014, at the St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born on July 9, 1962, at the former Home Hospital in Lafayette, to Geraldine "Jerri" (Rhoda) Catterlin and the late Davey Lee Catterlin. On July 27, 1991, in Gatlinburg, Tenn., he married Judy "Lisa" Miller. She survives.
He was a 1980 graduate of Twin Lakes High School of Monticello and a 1988 graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette with a degree in Industrial Technology Education.
Allen had taught for the Logansport Community High School for 25 years. He was a member of the Christian Church and the Gideon's International, both of Monticello.
Surviving are his wife, Judy "Lisa" Catterlin, Monticello; son, Nathan Catterlin, Monticello; mother, Geraldine "Jerri" (Rhoda) Bryant, Monticello; siblings, Diana (Jim) Hendley, Portage, Dave (Cindy) Catterlin, Arnold, Mo., Bruce (Linda) Catterlin, Monticello and Deborah Calloway, Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; step-brother, Phillip Bryant, Monticello; and mother-in-law, Joyce Miller, Morley, Tenn.
Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m., today, Friday, at the Miller – Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, and from 1 – 2 p.m. Saturday at the Monticello Christian Church, 105 Gordon Road.
Celebration of Life Service will be at the church at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church of Monticello officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hughes Cemetery in rural Monticello.
Memorials may be given to the Gideon's Bible Program. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
