Helen DeCamp Obituary

Helen M. DeCamp, 92, formerly of West Lafayette, died at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Monticello Assisted Living and Health Care. She had lived in West Lafayette most of her life.
She was born Sept. 3, 1916, in Hoopeston, Ill., to the late Harry and Mary Isabelle Jenkinson Hamilton. She married Cleo DeCamp on Feb. 14, 1945 in Norfolk, Va.
She graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1935 and graduated from Lafayette Business School. She was a crossing guard for Morton School for over 25 years. She was a 50-year member of Central Presbyterian Church where she was active in Circle. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, sewing, crocheting and knitting mittens and hats for Lafayette Headstart and was a long time TOPS member.
Survivors include sons Rodney J. (Jane) DeCamp, Monticello, Leon R. (Cathy) DeCamp, Otterbein and Kevin G. (Donna) DeCamp, Valrico, Fla.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters Laura Sink and Mary Davis; brothers Kenneth, Leland and Finley Hamilton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West. Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel.
Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and Central Presbyterian Church.
