Kathleen W. Lapolla, 86, of New Canaan, CT passed away on May 4, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen was born on February 3, 1927 in Stourport- on-Severn, England to the late Percival and Doris Barnes Brown.
Kathleen met her husband John during WWII where she was a bomb factory worker. She was crowned the Queen of Merchant Navy in 1945. They married in England in 1946 and came to New Canaan where they have lived for 66 years together.
Kathleen worked as a caregiver, Lang's Pharmacy & the New Canaan Advertiser. She also volunteered at Waveny Care Center & Norwalk Hospital. She enjoyed her beautiful gardens and spending time with her family. Kathleen also enjoyed dancing with her husband.
Kathleen is survived by her husband John, 2 daughters, Donna Gargon, of Norwalk, CT and Janet Bacco also of Norwalk, 1 son, John Richard Lapolla, of New Canaan, CT, and a sister, Francis & her husband Keith Morley, and their 3 children of Stourport England. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Stacey & Matt Cleary of Redding, Robin & David Dropkin of New Hartford, NY, Mark Gargon, Jr of Norwalk, Jonathan, James & Kristina Bacco of Norwalk, Vincent & Kathleen Lapolla of New Canaan and 6 great-grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Madison, Sarah, Emily & Cody.
Visitation will be held May 10, 2013 from 3 -7pm at Hoyt Funeral Home. Services are private. For directions and online condolences please visit www.hoytfuneralhome.com

So sorry for your loss. I can only hope that you find peace in your memories and the happy times you have spent together. Donna, I am so sorry I won't be here, but I will be in Virginia for my grandmother's services. Please know my love and thoughts are with you and your family

We were so sorry to hear about the passing of a wonderful lady, Kathleen was very special to alot of people. She will be missed but I know in my heart she will always be remembered by all who knew her.
