Botty, Dorothy - Branford  
Resident of Norwalk Dorothy Charlotte Botty, age 93 of Norwalk, died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice in Branford on Christmas Day, 2014. Born October 9, 1921 in Bronx, New York, she was the loving wife of Martin C. Botty of whom she was predeceased by in 1977 and the daughter of the late Louise and Alexander Smith. Dorothy lived in Norwalk for 57 years and was an active volunteer as a Cub and Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and in the kitchen at Honeyhill Elementary School while her children were growing up. Family was always important to Dorothy who was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed making holidays special with her love for cooking and baking, always with a decorative flair. Gardening, traveling, and a love for all animals and nature were her passions and made up Dorothy’s genuine zest for living life. She was also a member of the St. Paul’s Choir Guild for many years. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her surviving family: son, Douglas Botty and daughter-in-law Caroleen; daughter, Margo Lerner and son-in-law Jerry; daughter, Carolyn Minoff Greco; grandchildren, Mary Jessey and her husband Bob, Melissa Minoff, Mark Minoff, and Kate Elles and her husband Tom; and three great grandsons, Ryan and Alex Jessey and Peter Elles, and her brother, Alexander Smith and sister-in-law Joan. Family and friends may visit Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, CT from 4-7 pm on Sunday Dec. 28, 2014. A graveside service will be held on Monday Dec. 29, 2014 at 11 am at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk, CT. For directions, or to leave an online condolence, please go to:
