George, Ernest - Norwalk  
Ernest D. George, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2015. He was born on February 8, 1943 in Whiteville, North Carolina, son of the late Willie C. George and Mary Kemp George. Ernest served in the US Army and retired from Perkin Elmer of Norwalk. He was married to Wilhelmina McMillan George of Norwalk, CT. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons Ernest George Jr. (Shavonne) and Bryan George (Lucy); three grandchildren Aniyah, Eva and Avery Nicole; two sisters Daisye Freeman (Roy), Christine Burke (Hugh); four brothers Eddie George, Jessie George (Gwen), Ledrew George (Sue) and Eugene George (LaVerne) and a host of aunts, uncles,, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will take place TODAY, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Downer Funeral Home, 31 Stillwater Ave., Stamford, CT. Interment will follow in Whiteville, NC.

Grant, Marcia - Old Saybrook  
Marcia Ruth (Smalle) Grant, age 71, of Old Saybrook, CT passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Marcia was an amazing mother, sister, and friend and will be sadly missed by many. Her love for life and consideration of others made her an absolute pleasure to be around. Her energy and spirit was contagious, and she always put her all into anything she set out to do with determination, ingenuity, and impeccable attention to detail. She loved living along the shore, and found inspiration and comfort whenever near the sea. Marcia was the daughter of Edwin J. and Dorothy L. Smalle. She leaves behind her daughters Tracey Grant and Lisa McGlone; daughter-in-law Maureen McGlone and grandsons Aidan and Teagan McGlone. She is also survived by her sisters Jude Simpson and Lauren Stephens and their families, whom she was very close to. Visitation for Marcia will be on Friday, March 27th from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. in Centerbrook. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28th at noon at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date in the Riverbend Cemetery in Westerly, RI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Marcia’s name to Waterford-East Lyme Animal Shelter, Town of Waterford, 41 Avery Ln., Waterford, CT 06385. Henriksson, Patricia J. - New Canaan  
Resident of New Canaan Patricia J. Henriksson, age 83, a New Canaan resident for almost 40 years died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at her home with her loving family and devoted friend Marina by her side. Born in the Bronx, August 25, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Sarah Duffy and James Quinlivan. Pat was a longtime member of the New Canaan Women’s Club and St. Aloysius Parish. She enjoyed water aerobics at the New Canaan YMCA for many years. Pat enjoyed traveling and had fond memories of time spent in South Africa & Botswana. Pat especially loved her summer vacation in Newport every July. Pat had the ability to make friends where ever she went with her outgoing personality and readiness to talk to everyone she’d meet. Nothing made her happier than the smiles of her grand and great grandchildren. Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Lennart Henriksson; two daughters Barbara Vala and her husband Dennis of Norwalk, CT and Beth Linell her husband Tom of Weston, CT and one son James L. Whelan and his wife Amanda of The Woodlands, Texas; nine grandchildren Tricia Charise Corbett, Justin Charise, Chris Charise, Patrick Whelan, Jack Whelan, Ford Linell, Molly Linell, Kate Linell and Nicole Linell; three great-grandchildren Austin Charise, Griffin Corbett and Ashley Charise also survive. Pat was predeceased by her first husband Louis Whelan and is survived by his twin sister and her dear sister in law, Muriel Whelan. Pat is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10 am at St Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan, CT. The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 pm. Many thanks for the compassionate care received from staff at DaVita and Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County who managed to create happy memories despite a very difficult situation. Kabacoff, Bernard - Westport  
Bernard Louis Kabacoff, 93, husband of Beatrice Nemzer of Westport, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield, CT. Born January 7, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Morris and Fannie Richlen Kabacoff. Mr. Kabacoff was the Chief Chemist at the Revlon Research Center. He developed many of their products including the women’s fragrance “Charlie” and “Touch of Grey” for men. He received the Cosmetic Toiletry and Fragrance Association “Chemist of the Year Award”. In addition to his wife Beatrice, Mr. Kabacoff is survived by his children Dena Steinfeld and her husband Alvin of Brooklyn, NY, Lawrence Kabacoff and his wife Katherine of Columbia, MD, Robert Kabacoff and his wife Carol Lynn of Portland, ME. He is also survived by his stepchildren Joshua Nemzer and his wife Reah Pantazoupolis of Milton, MA, Dorothy Sandler of Ewing, NJ and Adam Nemzer and his wife Valli Tschirgi of Washington, DC and by 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Laughton, Douglas - Stratford  
Douglas B. Laughton, 63, of Stratford, formerly of Norwalk, died Monday, March 30th at home. He was the husband of Ellen Kirtland Laughton. Born in Norwalk on June 9, 1951, son of Elizabeth Warren Laughton of Brewster, MA and the late Richard Laughton, he was a 1970 graduate of Norwalk High School. Mr. Laughton was with Connecticut Light and Power for over 40 years; retiring in 2012 as chief lineman. An avid golfer and Norwalk High School soccer fan; Doug enjoyed the Rhode Island beaches, but mostly enjoyed being with his family and especially his grandchildren. Survivors, in addition to his wife and mother, include two sons Chris Laughton and his wife Nanette of Norwalk and Ben Laughton and wife Elizabeth of Pleasant Hills, PA; a daughter Emilie Reilly and husband Joe of Auburn, MA; two brothers Robert Laughton of Charlotte, North Carolina and Tom Laughton and his wife Sharyn of Eastham, MA and five grandchildren. Friends may call at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue on Saturday, April 4th from 1:00 to 4:30 pm. A prayer service will commence at 4:30 pm; Rev. James Scanlon will officiate. Lindeblad, Frances Vermes - Rowayton  
Frances Vermes Lindeblad, 65 year resident of Rowayton, passed away. Frances was born September 1, 1942 in Greenfield Center, NY. She moved to Norwalk as a child and graduated Norwalk High School class of ‘42. She went to work for Nash Engineering in 1943 where she met her late husband of 48 years, Harold Lindeblad. They married October 8, 1949. She retired in 1952 to start a family, raising three sons, Carl Bruce, Robert Allen and William John. She enjoyed boating, tennis and was an honorary lifetime member of the Norwalk Ski Club. She was also a member of the Rowayton Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her sister Hellen Smith of Norwalk; her son William Lindeblad of Rowayton and grandchildren Steig and Bethany Lindeblad of North Kingston, RI. Services were private. Mack, Lois - Leesburg  
Lois Hamm Eula Mack died peacefully on March 23, 2015 at the age of 85 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Lois is survived by her devoted husband, Emil Mack. She is also survived by her daughters LeEllen Volkhausen of Paonia, CO, Donna Korbel of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Kandy Farnsworth of New Milford, CT, Holly Bell of New Fairfield, CT and her son, Thomas Eula of New Milford, CT. Lois was predeceased by her son, John Eula. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren. Lois was born in Greenwich, CT to William Hamm and Marie Bogart. She moved to Pompano Beach, FL with her husband Emil in 1979 and worked at Har-Les Tool until her retirement in 1997. Lois was proud to serve as president of Planned Parenthood of Fairfield County. She was a member and a director in the Mercedes-Benz Club of North America and a member of Pilgrims United Church. The family is very thankful to the staff of Brookdale Memory Care and Cornerstone Hospice of Leesburg. A service will be held in Connecticut at a later date at the Congregational Church in Old Saybrook.

Mantlik, Mary - Norwalk  
Mary Elizabeth Mantlik, age 90, of Norwalk, died peacefully at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fairfield on Monday, March 30, 2105. She was the loving wife for 68 years of Andrew J. Mantlik. Mary was born in Hosszulaz, Hungary on November 11, 1924, the daughter of the late Andrew Pajuf and the late Mary Gyruko Pajuf Gaspar. Mary was a proud mother and homemaker for her four children and husband and also worked part-time at Sperry Semiconductor and Norden’s. She loved her flower and vegetable gardening and cooking, especially traditional Hungarian dishes and baked goods. She was a longtime member of St. Ladislaus Church. When younger, she enjoyed singing in her school and church. In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her daughter Suzanne Brennan of Lafayette, CA; her sons Arthur Mantlik and his wife Angela Rella of Phoenix, AZ, Frank Mantlik and his wife Linda of Stratford and Andrew S. Mantlik and his wife Betsy of Phoenix, AZ; her granddaughters Sara and Rachel Mantlik and cousin Elizabeth “Betty” Occhi and her husband John of Port Washington, NY. Funeral services will be held at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 4. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Mary’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 until services begin. Donations in her name may be made to St. Ladislaus Church, 25 Cliff St., Norwalk, CT 06854.
