Jeffrey Robert Nadro Sr Resident of Stamford Jeffrey Robert Nadro Sr, 64, a longtime resident of Stamford passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Born on January 31, 1951 to the late Katherine Syring Nadro and Stanley Nadro, Jeff moved to Norwalk as a child but returned to Stamford where he raised his seven children and built his business, Nadro Plumbing and Heating for the past 39 years. Jeffrey is survived by his seven children Sara Mathews Dixon, Lauren Forker, Jena Nadro, Jeffrey Nadro II, Mallory Nadro, Carly Nadro, David Nadro, and son-in-laws Jon Forker and Jarah Mathews Dixon. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Boger and her husband David Boger, brother Timothy Nadro and finacee Maria Rix, sister Deborah Starkins and her husband Richard Starkins and brother Brian Nadro. Jeff adored his seven grandsons, Nathan, Jack, Patrick, and Finn Forker, and Lorenzo, Anthony and Dominic Mathews Dixon. Jeff was an avid fisherman, gun hobbyist, and lover of nature. He valued hard work, loyalty, common sense and most of all his family and friends. As a plumber who apprenticed as a young teen, he took his skills and served in the United States Navy as a Navy Seabee during the Vietnam War. He later worked for Meehan Plumbing and Heating before opening his own business, Nadro Plumbing and Heating, in Stamford in 1992. As a longtime Stamford resident, Jeff was a member at the Halloween Yacht Club and the Cos Cob Rifle and Revolver Club. Jeff took great joy in spending his weekends on his boat both at Lake Ontario and recently in Long Island Sound. Jeff will be missed by those who cared for him most including his family, his friends, his customers, his former wife, Michelina Fiori, and companion Gail Barilka. Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Gabriel Parish, 914 Newfield Avenue, Stamford.
