Elizabeth R. Kempf, age 84, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 after a brave battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of Frederick and Amelia Kempf of Norwalk. Elizabeth lived most of her life in Norwalk and was a valued employee of Klaff's in South Norwalk. She was the Accounts Receivable Coordinator for forty seven years, until retiring in 2001.
Following her retirement, she moved to California to be closer to her sister's family. Elizabeth loved to travel, especially to Carmel, CA. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Frank Sinatra and was an avid watcher of golf.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Kempf Sr. of Newtown; Phillip Kempf Sr. of Maine; her sister Katherine Kester of Alabama and most recently, her sister Emily Morris of California.
She is survived by many nieces of nephews, including Roy Kempf Jr. of New Canaan, Carl M. Kester Jr. of Alabama and in California by her brother-in-law Joseph Morris Sr.; nieces Judith Bombardieri, Katherine Endrzejewski, Kristine Hallquist, and great niece Stephanie Bombardieri, and great nephews Nick and Michael Hallquist of California.
Elizabeth was laid to rest in a private family service held on Monday, February 11, 2013. The service was held at the Hanford Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Service.
