Mr. Gerald W. Duquette, 93, husband of Lillian (Twarda) Duquette passed away at his home in Westport, CT on Saturday, September 7th.
Gerald was born in Bellingham, MA on August 14, 1920 and is the son of the late Wilfred and Annie (Browe) Duquette. Gerald was a W.W.II Veteran and served in the US Army Air Corp from 1941 to 1946. He worked on the Railway Express for many years and later co-owned Jerry's Hardware Store. Gerald loved photography, painting and especially wood carving, Gerald carved the life sized carousel horse at the Westport Senior Center.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 72 years, include one brother Louis A. Duquette of Old Saybrook, CT; three sisters Edna Decker and her husband Frank of Westport, CT; Jacqueline Goodrow of Brookfield, CT and Claire Faucher and her husband Jean-Luc of Westport, CT and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother Carl Duquette and three sisters Marguerite Ference, Rita Greene and Marion Hall.
The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Rd. E., Westport, CT on Saturday, September 14th from 10:00 to 10:45AM. A funeral will follow in Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport, CT at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Rd., Westport with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers may be made to or Assumption Church in Westport.
