John “Phil” Sullivan
Lifelong Norwalk Resident
John “Phil” Sullivan, 88, of Norwalk, died Monday February 3rd at the Norwalk Hospital.
Born in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Michael and Irene Smith Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was a lifelong Norwalk resident and a retired Letter Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, with 36 years of service. He was a graduate of Norwalk High School class of 1943 and was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Navy and was a 67 year member of the Frank C. Godfrey, Post 12, American Legion.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by four nephews John M. Sullivan, of Shelton, CT, John L. Sullivan, of Norwalk, CT, Joseph M. Sullivan, of Cooper City, FL and James F. Sullivan, of Venice, FL. He was predeceased by a sister, Alice S. Rooney and two brothers, Francis J. Sullivan and Joseph M. Sullivan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 7th at 10:00 AM in St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 6th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
