Madeline Ione (Vaast) Kenefic, 91, resident of Newtown and wife to the late Joseph F. Kenefic, passed away Sunday, August 11th at Danbury Hospital.
Madeline was born December 15, 1921 in Norwalk, Connecticut, daughter of the late Jules and Mary (Bain Brimacombe) Vaast. She resided in Norwalk during the majority of her life, and has also lived in the Connecticut communities of Wilton, Ridgefield, Waterbury, and since 2010 in Newtown. Madeline also lived in the Florida communities of Boynton Beach and Fort Pierce.
She is a graduate of the Norwalk High School, Class of 1939 where she was president of the National Honor Society. She enjoyed playing piano, swimming, sailing, exercising, reading, using her computer, doing crossword puzzles, and being with friends and family. She was a literacy volunteer with students in both Connecticut and Florida.
Madeline is survived by her four sons (spouses): Jay, Sr. (Letitia) of Bethel, Gregory (Teresa) of Houston, TX, Jonathan (Doreen) of Norwalk, and William (Katherine) of Norwalk, and her seven grandchildren: Jay, Jr. of Wilmington, VT, Ian and Ryan of Houston, TX, Joseph and Jesse of Redding, Christine (Ryan) of Fairfield, and Griffin of Fairfax, VA.
