Nikolaos G. Papadopoulos, 87, of Norwalk, husband of Xanthoula Mavropoulos Papadopoulos died Friday evening at his home.
Born in Greece he was the son of the late George and Sophia Triantafilidis Papadopoulos. Mr. Papadopoulos came to the United States on February 28th, 1971, he was retired from Pepperidge Farm. He was a very dedicated family man who adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His smile and eyes would light up a room, he was strong, honorable and proud and fortunate to have lived long enough to see his family grow. His sincerity and love will be an example for all to follow.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Sophia Ananiadis and her husband George, of Norwalk, Julia Koukidis and her husband John, of Norwalk, George Papadopoulos and his wife Teresa, of Westport; two brothers, Ioannis Papadopoulos and Anastasios Papadopoulos both of Athens, Greece; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in the United States and Greece. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held on Monday April 29th at 10:00 AM in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Road, Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
Friends may visit with the family TODAY, Sunday April 28th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
