Platon Koukides

Platon Koukides, 87, husband of Eleni Andronikidis Koukides, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at his home surrounded by family. Born in Greece on May 24, 1926, he was the son of the late Panagiotis and Kiriaky Koukides.
Platon emigrated from Greece in 1969 and became a United States citizen in July of 1983. He started working for Pepperidge Farms in 1971 and retired in 1985. Platon was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather; he was proud of becoming an American and of his family. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife of 67 years, Platon is survived by three children Despina Ioannides and her husband Panagiotis of Greece, John Koukides and his wife Julia of Norwalk, and Peter and his wife Diana of Norwalk; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Platon was one of ten children, only two sisters in Greece survive him.
Friends may call TONIGHT from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Road, Norwalk. Family and friends may gather for funeral services on Thursday, April 24th, at 10:00 am at St. George Church. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
