Former Resident of Norwalk
Theodora L. Errico (Teddy), 90, of Sparta, New Jersey, a longtime resident of Norwalk, CT, passed away at her home on Monday, December 3rd, with her family at her side. Born on December 18, 1921, she was married for 70 years to Michael E. Errico, whom she met at a nurses' dance in 1939. She was the daughter of the late Paul Frederick and Anna Horkey Rickert.
A Registered Nurse, who graduated from the Norwalk Hospital Nursing School in 1942, Teddy served a number of years as supervisor of the Surgical Ward at Norwalk Hospital and later worked as an industrial nurse at American Cyanamid in Stamford. She later retired after a number of years as a private duty nurse.
For many years, Teddy was associated with the Norwalk Girl Scouts, serving as Troop Leader. She and her husband enjoyed many cruises in their retirement.
Teddy adored her family, on which she bestowed her great love and affection. In addition to her husband Michael, she is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Ann and her husband, William E. Granata of New Milford, Connecticut and Laura Marie and her husband, Colonel (Ret.) Alfred A. Coppola of Sparta, New Jersey; five grandchildren, William C. Granata and his wife Brandy of New Milford: Nicholas J. Granata and his wife Vanessa of Holmdel, New Jersey; AnneMarie Granata, and her husband, John Kimball, of Hamden, Connecticut, 1st Lt. Vincent A. Coppola, now stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas, and his wife 1st Lt. Cristina, as well as 2nd Lt. Dominic C. Coppola now stationed at Ft. Gordon, Georgia; eight great- grandchildren: Michael, William, Sophia, Samuel, and Gabriel Granata of New Milford and Avery and Emerson Granata of Holmdel, New Jersey, and Alexander Coppola, born December 2nd in Texas. Also, a brother-in-law Joseph H. Errico of Norwalk, two nephews, Robert DuPlessis, of New Fairfield, Connecticut and Mark Errico of Norwalk and a niece, Mrs. Sharon Shmanda, of Norwalk. Also, a number of cousins throughout the country
She was predeceased by her sister Irma DiMarco.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 A. M. in St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road
