Vincent Boccanfuso, age 80 of Norwalk, beloved husband of 56 years to Josephine (Cuomo) Boccanfuso, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2013 at home with his loving family. Born in Ischia, Italy, the son of the late Almerico and Annunziata (Pesce) Boccanfuso, he worked as a bricklayer and stone mason. Mr. Boccanfuso came to Norwalk in 1956, married and raised his family. In 1982, after retiring, he and his wife returned to Ischia. Each year they returned to Norwalk to spend the holidays with their family.
Mr. Boccanfuso enjoyed gardening, watching soccer, and, above all, spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Nancy Surace and her husband Joe, Vinnie Boccanfuso and his wife Debi, all of Norwalk, and Jennifer Boccanfuso of Ischia, Italy, 7 cherished grandchildren: Stephen, Michael and Matthew Surace and Stephanie, Melissa, Kevin and Vincent Boccanfuso; a sister Cecilia and 4 brothers: Salvatore, Franco and Vittorio all of Italy and George Boccanfuso of Norwalk, as well as several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Antonio and Mario.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 11, from 4 to 8 pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 12 at 12 Noon at St. Jerome Church, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
