Walter V. Fuegner, age 94, of Trumbull and former longtime Norwalk resident, died peacefully at St. Joseph's Manor in Trumbull on May 21, 2014. He was the husband of the late Florence Blaskovich Fuegner. Walter was born in St. Louis, MO on October 14, 1919, the son of the late Harry and Lydia Walters Fuegner. He was a former salesman and distributor for the Frito Lay Company and then worked as a custodian for the Wilton Board of Education. Walter was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II and was a member of the American Legion and the DAV.
Survivors include a son, Paul Fuegner of Norwalk, a daughter Suzanne Smith and her husband Floyd of Stratford, grandchildren Paula Fuegner, Brian and Howard Osborn, a great grandson Alex Osborn and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wed., May 28, 10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. To leave an online condolence, please go to
