Formerly of Norwalk
Albert Olivia peacefully passed away entering eternal life on July 10th.
He was born June 25,1930 in Norwalk, the son of the late Albert and Mary Olivia. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur D`Attelo of Norwalk and his sisters, the late Francis Agonis of Watertown, CT and the late Mary Poruban of Fairfield.
For many years he was the proprietor of Al's Variety Store a well known fixture on Wall Street which was the hub of political debate and dialogue in Norwalk. He was known for his kindness to those from all walks of life. He was a Norwalk firefighter for many years prior to that.
He was a member of The Sons Of Italy. He founded The Honor America Society which honored those who served our country. His actions through his extensive charitable work promoted harmonious coexistence and compassion throughout the city of Norwalk.
His skill on the softball field was well known in his day as his youth abounded in the love of camaraderie in sports.
He is survived by his beloved wife Rebecca Olivia of Boca Raton, FL as well as his stepchildren, Jody Alligood of Waterford, CT; Donna Alvarez of Miami Beach ,FL; and Pamela Wildfeuer also of Miami Beach. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Amanda Alvarez of Miami, FL; Robert Van Gompel of Denver, CO; and Monica Alvarez Baber of San Antonio, TX.
He was buried with full military honors July 17th at the Veterans Cemetery in Del Ray Beach, FL having had served in the Air Force.
His valuable words of wisdom and love of life are the treasures he has left behind within the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
