65Bob Anthony Michalak Formerly of Norwalk Bob Anthony Michalak, 83, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck, NY. Mr. Michalak was a graduate of the University of Toledo and received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic. Upon graduation he was employed as an electrical engineer for 18 years at Sperry Gyroscope, Lake Success, NY and retired from Dell Electronics, Valhalla, NY, after 30 years, remaining as a consultant until the time of his death. Bob was an accomplished athlete and avid sports and Detroit Tigers fan. He was a member of his high school baseball team and continued playing softball through college and at Sperry Gyroscope. Later in life he enjoyed tennis and golf and was most recently a member of the Edgewood Golf Club, Tivoli. Additionally, Bob together with his wife Ceil truly enjoyed playing Duplicate Bridge throughout their marriage. Prior to moving to Rhinebeck fifteen years ago, Bob and his wife were thirty year residents of Norwalk, CT. He was an active parishioner of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Norwalk, and a member of the Shore and Country Club. Since moving to Rhinebeck he has been a parishioner of the Good Shepherd Church; and transferred his membership as a 4th Degree Knight from the John Mackey Council, Roslyn, NY to the Hyde Park Council Knights of Columbus. Bob was born May 1, 1929 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Vincent and Cecilia (Tucholski) Michalak. On April 24, 1959 in Roslyn, NY, he married Cecilia J McGowan. In addition to his wife Cecilia of Rhinebeck survivors include a son John Michalak, and his wife Cindy, of West Hartford, CT; three daughters, Claudia Stern and her husband Norman, of Melville NY; Joan Confoy and her husband Michael, of Ashburn, VA; Bernadette Lecza, and her husband Mike, of Durham, CT; six grandchildren, Jordan and Eve Stern, Alyssa and Bryan Lecza; James and Elin Confoy. He was predeceased by two sisters Phyllis Young and Joan Szymanski. Calling hours are Friday, 2 to 5PM and 7 to 9PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. Prayers will be offered at 2 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 11AM, at the Good Shepherd Church, 92 East Market St., Rhinebeck, NY. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Rhinecliff, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the
