“The Songbird”
Deaconess Mazzie L. Williams, 73, affectionately known as “The Songbird”, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012. She was born on June 15, 1939 in Santee, SC daughter of the late Early and Mazzie Fogle Keels. Mazzie was married to Leonard E. Williams of Norwalk, CT. She was formerly employed by Vectron Laboratories Inc. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, LaTanya Williams, one brother, Earl Keels (Vivian), one sister, Julia Butler and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Siblings Jessie Mae Abraham and Edward Keels predeceased Mazzie.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM followed by a service of celebration at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 96 S. Main St. Norwalk, CT with Rev. Henry G. Floyd, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Downer Funeral Home.
