Edward Mason
Formerly of Norwalk
Edward Joseph Mason, age 76, of Niantic, formerly of Bethel, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.
He was born in Norwalk, July 15, 1936, the son of Joseph and Angelina Manforte Mason. He was the husband of Beverly King who survives him.
Mr. Mason attended the Culinary Institute and was retired, having been employed as a pastry chef for Norwalk Hospital. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to the Caribbean Islands and Hawaii.
In addition to his wife Beverly, he is survived by a sister Geraldine Johanson of Milford and four nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Mason.
Calling hours are Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 12:30 until 3 P.M. at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Monday in St. Agnes Church, Haigh Ave., Niantic, with burial to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Neurofibromatosis Foundation, Inc., 95 Pine Street, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
