Hector Luis Silva
Norwalk Resident
Hector Luis Silva was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on May 201, 1959 to Angel Silva and Esmeralda Umpierre. When he was 8 years old, he and his family moved to Norwalk. He was eager to learn English and attended Norwalk Public Schools. Hector spent his life caring for the elderly; serving as translator, running errands, entertaining them by simply keeping them company, and reading to them.
Hector found great joy in praising God and worshiped the Lord at home. He was known by his family and friends for his jovial disposition, hearty laugh and remarkable breadth of practical, academic and esoteric knowledge.
Hector leaves to cherish his memory, his parents and his siblings, Madeline Randall (Peter), Jose Crespo, Wanda Crespo-Rilling and Moises Flores (Carmen). Also, nephews Mario (Mia) and Jose Jr; nieces Ebony and Christina; great-niece, Damaris; and a host of family and friends.
Hector will always be remembered for his brilliant smile and giving heart. He will be missed by all that loved and knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 26, 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 85 S. Main St., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Hector's family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Monday from 5-8 PM. For directions or to sign an online guest book, please go to magnerfuneralhome.com.
