Jessie Mae Abraham Long Time Norwalk Resident Jessie Mae Abraham, 77, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. She was born on January 15, 1935 in Santee, South Carolina to the late Early Keels and Mazzie Fogle Keels. She relocated to Norwalk, CT in 1952 where she lived for over 50 years. Jessie, affectionately called Jess, worked for many years as a shoemaker for the Sherman Brothers in Norwalk, CT. She was married to Daniel Abraham, Jr., for many years. Jess is survived by three daughters, Shirley Abraham of Norwalk, CT, Cynthia Murphy of Bridgeport, CT, and Wanda Abraham of Norwalk, CT; one son, Kenneth Abraham (Michele) of Norwalk, CT; a special son, Anthony Buchanan (Tracy) of Shelton, CT; one brother, Earl Keels (Vivian) of Norwalk, CT; two sisters, Julia Butler of Santee, SC, and Mazzie Williams (Leonard) of Norwalk, CT; two special sisters, Gelain Shaw (Julius) of Holy Hill, SC, and Joann Thomas of Deland, FL; twenty-eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends (including two special friends, Vivian Briscoe and Michelle Brunson both of Norwalk, CT). Jess was predeceased by three brothers, George Keels, Edward Keels, and Jake Keels; as well as one sister, Rosa Mae Keels. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 96 South Main Street, Norwalk, CT 06854. The viewing will begin at 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Marlon Smith will be officiating. Interment immediately following at Riverside Cemetery.
