Mary A. Hoggson, 90, of East Norwalk, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Norwalk Hospital under the care of Connecticut Hospice.
Born in Norwalk, June 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Martin J. and Lena Paulovich Passeck, and was a life-long Norwalk resident.
Mary graduated from Norwalk High School in 1940. Most of her working career was in banking. She worked for CityTrust, and various other banks. After retiring from the banking world she kept busy by working part time in the Pepperidge Farm Thrift Store.
In her earlier years she loved to do needlepoint and crewel work. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Up until her passing, one of her favorite past times was gathering monthly for lunch with her former high- school classmates of 1940. She lived independently in Senior Housing where she made many endearing friends.
Survivors include two daughters Rosemary Yost and her husband Charles of Norwalk and Cheryl Aide, also of Norwalk; a son-in-law Kevin Boyd of North Carolina; six grandchildren Stacey Kinsley, Matthew Yost, Trisha Tennis, Edward Aide Jr., Adam and Alex Boyd; twelve great-grandchildren Jack, Alex and Henry Kinsley, Joseph, Gianna, Angela and Thomas Yost, Morgan and Zachary Tennis, Madison and Carter Aide, and James Lehman. She is also survived by nephews Brien and Glenn Riedell and a niece Deborah Burlando.
Mrs. Hoggson was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Boyd and her sister Doris Riedell.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 2nd, at 11:00 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. There will be no calling hours.
