Minnie Anna Belina, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2013 at home in the arms of her sons after a brief illness. Minnie was born in Greenwich CT on August 1, 1922 to the late Carmine and Elizabeth Servidio D'Amore.
Minnie was a graduate of Greenwich High School, she worked at times as a secretary at Norwalk Hospital, Pulaski Oil Company and MBI Corporation. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Greenwich, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norwalk and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ithaca, NY. In retirement she lovingly devoted herself, as she did all her life, to her late husband Chester Belina who passed away in 1993, her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She left Norwalk in 2005 and joined her son John in Ithaca, NY. where she participated in many events at Cornell University where she was a favorite of students, faculty and staff alike.
She is survived by her 3 sons, John of Ithaca, NY, Robert of Poughquag, NY, and Mark of Richford, NY, as well as 2 nieces, Barbara Vlahos of Jensen Beach, FL and Donna Harrington of Greenwich, Ct. 2 nephews David D'Amore of Florida and Louis D'Amore of Wilton, NH as well as 4 grandchildren, Michelle Belina of Poughquag, NY. Allison Belina of Mine Hill, NJ. Matthew Belina of Poughquag, NY and Ed Larson of Ridgefield, CT. She was predeceased by her loving husband Chester S. Belina and five brothers Joseph, Louis, Orlando (Vet), Wish, and Dominic.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 9 to 10:30am at The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on SATURDAY January 4, at 11am at St. Thomas Church. 203 East Avenue, Norwalk Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk. For information or to sign an online guestbook, please go to magnerfuneralhome.com
