Norwalk Resident
Mirella Macaluso, of Norwalk, died Sunday morning at her home.
Born in Palermo, Sicily she was the daughter of the late Benedetto and Diane Calabrese Macaluso. Ms. Macaluso came to the U.S. in 1956 and had been a beautician in Wilton for over 40 years. She was generous in nature and fun loving with her family and all her friends.
Survivors include two beloved sisters, Maria Giannitti and her husband Ted of Westport, Lillian Spedale and her husband Leonardo of Palermo, Sicily; Loving nephews, Damiano Spedale and his wife Daniella of Palermo, Sicily, Ted Giannitti and his wife Caroline of Westport, loving niece, Diane Karazulas and her husband Pete of Easton; six cherished great nieces & nephews, Leonardo Spedale, Emily Karazulas, Amanda Giannitti, Lindsey Giannitti, Kelly Karazulas and Rafaella Spedale. She was predeceased by a nephew Benedetto Spedale.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday July 12th at 11:00 AM in Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Avenue, Westport. Entombment will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport, CT. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 11th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
