Robert A. Kuchta
Robert A. Kuchta, 63, of Norwalk and formerly of Stamford, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was born in Stamford on May 3, 1950 to the late John S. and Carmela Sabia Kuchta.
Robert was a graduate of Rippowam High School, Class of 1968 and awarded All State Football honors. He was an Art Teacher at Cloonan Middle School of Stamford for thirty seven years. He also founded girls lacrosse in Norwalk and also served as the Brien Mc Mahon girls lacrosse coach, also finding the time to coach his son and daughter in various sports, hockey, baseball, football and lacrosse. Robert was devoted to his wife and children. In his spare time he put his creativity towards carpentry, painting, sculpting and whatever needed to be fixed.
He is survived by his devoted wife Criss Dawes Kuchta of Norwalk; his loving children Ian Dawes Kuchta of Greenwich and Emily K. Kuchta of Rye, NY and his brother John A. Kuchta and his wife Donna of Stratford, CT. Many nieces and nephews are also surviving.
Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and also on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM, with a service following at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert's memory to the Norwalk Land Trust, P.O Box 34, Norwalk, CT 06857.
