Russell Brown

Russell Brown, 69, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away at Florida Hospital on Friday, January 17, one day before his 70th birthday. Russ was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick Canada on January 18th, 1944 to Kenneth and Bertha Higgs Brown. He resided in Minto, N.B. Until he moved to Norwalk, CT in 1955. Russ attended Kendall School, Center Jr. High, and Norwalk High School, graduating in the Class of 1961. Russ was the class treasurer, member of the baseball team, manager on the football team. Russ attended Curry College in Massachusetts. He worked at his families rental store, later on to become Co-Owner. Russ retired and moved to Florida in 2005 to help his mother. Russ was quite a character, he had an enormous personality, a huge smile and lots of love to go round for his family and many friends. His loves were U Conn girl's basketball, Jamaica, traveling to England, Spain and France, movies and his bright orange Corvette.
He is survived by his mother Bertha Brown, Ormond Beach, FL; sister Mary Lou Kurtzman, Brookfield CT; brother Sidney & Janis Brown of North Salem N.Y; nephews John Kurtzman, Greg Kurtzman, Jason & Meghan Kurtzman all of Norwalk, CT; Kyle Brown, VT. Several great nieces and nephews. He was also survived by his aunt Myrna Shirley, N.S. Canada and many cousins all over the US and Canada.
A memorial service will be held at East Avenue United Methodist Church, 224 East Avenue, Norwalk on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 7pm.
