Ruth Smith Linxweiler, 92, formerly of So. Norwalk, passed away peacefully at her home in Dallas, TX, on Dec. 27th.
She was born in Norwalk, the daughter of Katherine (Millburn) Smith and Arthur Herbert Smith. She is predeceased by her husband, Jacob Linxweiler, who passed away in 1980, and her brother, Herbert Franklin Smith, in 1956. She is survived by her son, Jacob Linxweiler of Auburn, NH, and his wife, Joanne; and her daughter, Karlene Crowley, and her husband, Bill, of Dallas, TX., as well as seven grandchildren; Jason Gutman, Kaila and Sean Crowley, Jacob, Matthew, Karlene and Justin Linxweiler; also her niece, Kathy (Smith) Picci.
Ruth attended local schools in Norwalk, and graduated from Norwalk High School Class of 1938. She resided in South Norwalk, where she was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church until 1969, when she relocated with her husband to Newark, DE. In recent years she resided in Miami, FL., and Dallas, TX. Ruth loved being around people. She was always the life of every gathering and could light up a room with her presence. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 5th, at 11:00 A. M. in St. Mary Church, 669 West Avenue. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
